Happy Holidays,
I hope everyone is enjoying the fresh snow we keep getting every few days. Definitely a better beginning to the winter and holiday season than last year. The cold and snow make me start thinking about spending much more time in doors. I like spending the evenings sitting by my wood burning stove with my favorite winter spirit, twisting up some flies in preparation for spring 2017. I’ve already started helping folks fill the stocking of some lucky fly angler. However, the real fun starts right after the new year.
Fly tying season is just around the corner. The 2017 Castaway Fly Tying Club will reconvene at 7pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month at the Earthlogic building located at 56 main st. in Essex VT. Just like last year, the Monday before I will post the fly I intend to tie that week with the recipe. Tying this fly the night of the event is optional. but it will give people the chance to get materials they need, and help people tying along at home. It’s a great way to melt the winter away.

Hi Eric,
I can arrange beginner fly tying for you and your son. Do you have your own fly tying vise and basic tools? Give me a call to discuss scheduling and other details. My number is 802-989-0398.
