Dank day of fishing

by Brian Zinger on October 4, 2012

I had the pleasure of guiding Nick and Mary Arnold form CA yesterday in a morning down pour and all day drizzle.
They both caught nice browns in the morning on The Middelbury River, one on a olive/black woolly bugger and the other came on a green sparkle pupa. We had lunch along side the North Branch, but found the water to be stained and full of leaves. We dropped back down stream to take our shot at a big brown. I switched them over to Three River streamers which got Nick hooked up for a bit. We finished the day on the Otter where Mary had some fun with fish slashing and jumping on her olive streamer. Lots of action but no reward.
Most rivers have received some rain this week. Enough to raise levels and add color. We have more rain forecast for everyday through the weekend with a chance of snow in the higher elevation on Monday.
