Moving on.

by Brian Zinger on February 12, 2019

Last week the club meeting at Berdas got iced out, but Aaron and I still showed and got a couple flies tied over a couple of brews. We will be back to Berdas for sure. This week is the clubs week off from meeting, but that doesn’t mean we stop moving on with tying.

Recently I’ve been doing golden stone flies. A staple in most Vermont rivers so should be in you fly box as well. This particular pattern was introduced to me by Wes Butler, a guide from the past turned warden. Pronounced wing cases and UV ice dub makes this fly different from others and very attractive to trout. I have incorporated those differences into my black stone fly nymphs with similar good production.
